Becue, in my opinion, is making one of the two or three best-playing carbon fiber shafts on the market. They are a relatively small company specializing in only carbon fiber products, and they know their business. The amount of testing and research that has gone into their development over the last ten years is impressive, along with their collaboration with top international players, and their attention to detail and quality control is as good as it gets. Becue, because of their location in Italy, is not as well-known in the U.S. as some other companies, but Recollection Cues is now making them easily available to American players.
They primarily make two kinds of shafts, their Engage the Prime II. You can go to their site and find a lot of detail about either one, but here, in one sentence, is what I think you need to know about the difference between the two. The Engage is stiffer with less deflection than the Prime II, but is not quite as quiet, while the Prime II is more flexible, and a bit quieter.
There are other minor differences, but what I said above is the key factor in deciding which shaft to choose. The Prime II is quieter; the Engage is stiffer. If you want maximum deflection and not quite so quiet, choose the Engage. But if you want very little deflection, a bit more flexibility and more quiet, choose the Prime II.
We stock them in the following bolt sizes: 3/8X10, 3/8X11, radial, Uniloc, and 5/16X14 piloted. They come in both 29 and 30 inch lengths.
The Prime IIs come in two shaft diameters: 12.0 or 12.5 mm.
They also come with two ferrule options, white or clear at no extra charge, but we don't always have both options in stock.
