| Mike Bender Purpleheart Passion |
This is a beautiful offering from the Mike Bender shop -- straight from Alaska. With a butt sleeve of purpleheart, with delicate ivory inlays forming a traditional type of design, and four points of purpleheart outlined with tasteful veneers against a nose of pure Gabon ebony, this is an outstanding cue. The design is traditional, but elegant, and the workmanship is about as perfect as you can find in a handmade instrument.

Some cues just fit the word "classy", and this is one of them. Everything is done in a very subtle way and comes together in an elegant way. If you're not familiar with the work of Mike Bender, this cue is a good example of his work. He is fairly traditional in his designs, but gets the most out of them. His cues also have a reputation for hitting well. This one is no exception.

| There are a fair number of ivory inlays in this cue, and it is fitted with an ivory joint. He uses a flat faced wood-to-wood combination utilizing a 3/8 by 11-1/2 pin, the same as in Southwest cues. The ringwork is exceptionally pretty in this cue, and he did a unique job of matching it to the veneers, and then lining up the ring at the bottom of the points so that it looks like an extension of the veneers. Neat idea, and very sharp looking!

This cue is unplayed and in new condition. It comes with two 13mm shafts with ivory ferrules and weighs about 19 oz. This is a special cue for someone who really wants a very nice Bender. I'll sell it for $3,400 plus shipping, and that's a bargain. Mike told me his price on this cue today would be $4,000, so this cue is a great buy at this price. Actually, I can't believe I still have this cue. Bender is rated by the other top cuemakers as one of the best, and this is a very classy, elegant cue that plays like you wouldn't believe!)
It also displays well in a black leather 1X2 Whitten case, so if you'd like it with the case, it will be $3,650 plus shipping.
