BLACKCREEK FULL SPLICE HORSESHOE TULIPWOOD
The tulipwood in this cue is so highly figured that from one side it's reminiscent of a pair of inverted horseshoes - thus the name. It's another full splice cue from Travis Niklich at Blackcreek, and a very pretty one that hits a ton. And, it's some of the prettiest tulipwood I've seen anywhere.
The design on this cue isn't fancy, but it is pretty. He uses a basic four point full splice design with a four piece veneer of black, green, purple and holly surrounding the tulipwood points going into a nose of very pretty birdseye maple.
| |
| He adds a black (with white speckles) linen wrap, and a Hoppe-style butt cap of LBM (white) and phenolic (black). It results in a classic look, and for fans of the full splice hit, a great cue.
Travis built this cue with a flat faced LBM joint with a radial pin, and made it look good by adding some simple but classy ringwork. It comes with two 13mm shafts with LBM ferrules and triumph tips. It weighs 19.0 oz. It's a great looking cue, and plays even better than it looks. Price: $1350.
