MIKE CAPONE SIX POINT COCOBOLO |
We're pleased to be a dealer for Mike Capone Cues. Mike has been making cues for many years, and his work is solid - meticulous, nice attention to detail, nice finishes and good fit. Best of all, his sticks hit well and make great players. For good measure, during the last two years Mike has been president of the American Cuemakers Association, even more firmly establishing his reputation and standing in the cue industry.

This is a really pretty six point cocobolo cue. The wood is nicely figured and the cocobolo points are nicely separated from the cocobolo nose with five veneers of white and black.
|
I like the way he used darker cocobolo in the points than in the nose of the cue, which is much brighter. The contrast allows the points to stand out nicely against the nose.
|
| Mike built in a fairly complex ring pattern of the same veneer pattern as in the points - two rings of five veneers each with white hash marks linking the double rings together to form the total pattern. These rings are placed above the butt cap, below and above the wrap, at the joint and on the ring collars of each shaft.
|
The wrap on this cue is one of my personal favorites, for both feel and appearance. It is a tightly wound black linen, closely pressed so that it looks and feels almost like leather. For someone who likes the feel of linen, but the look of leather, this is a great choice.

It has a black phenolic butt cap, complemented by a matching black phenolic ring at the joint. The butt sleeve is also of nicely grained cocobolo.
|
Mike uses a radial stainless steel pin with a flat-faced joint. It is a custom built radial pin that is engraved with Mike's "C" logo and the words "Capone Custom Cue." It clearly identifies the cue as one of his.
This cue weighs 19.1 ounces and comes with two 13mm shafts of premium tight-grained maple with LBM ferrules. It's a gorgeous cue.
PRICE: $1700
