MIKE DURBIN
WRAPLESS MERRY WIDOW
IN BOCOTE AND KINGWOOD

I always get a lot of requests for budget priced "player" cues from Mike Durbin, who is known for making good, everyday playing sticks.  Lots of top players play every day with his cues.  So, this is an opportunity to get a custom made cue by a top cue maker for less than people are paying these days for production cues from the big companies being mass-produced and never even test-hit.

This is a simple merry widow design, made special by using some very unusual bocote for the forearm and butt sleeve, and some beautiful kingwood for the handle.

Bocote is usually darker, with more of the wood dark than light.  However, in the wood used in this stick, more of the wood is light, with dark streaks.  Very unique.

As usual, Mike has a knack for taking s simple design and dressing it up with nice wood adding some pretty details.  In the case of this cue, the details include slick rings, a white elforyn butt cap, and a matching white elforyn joint.

Nice cues are all about details.  For example, these simple rings.  Each one begins with a black phenolic ring, then has one thin silver ring added, along with a slightly thicker silver ring forming a pair.  Just a small difference, but it cretes a nice look.

And the bocote is stunning ...

The kingwood in the handle is dark and presents a nice contrast against the lighter bocote.

The workmanship in Mike's sticks is always top notch.  Everything from his basic construction to his final finish is always flawless. And his number one concern is always playability and hit.

The white elforyn joint and butt cap add a lot to the overall look of this stick. They are great highlight features than add to the stunning look.

It's built with a flat-faced joint with a 3/8X11 G10 resin pin.  G10s are as strong as steel and have the advantage of resistance to bending.  And they add a certain undescribable flexibility to the hit that is a real plus.
It comes with two 13mm shafts of Mike's premium maple, with elforyn ferrules and LePro tips.  It weighs 19.4 ounces (15.3, 3.7, 3.8) and is 58 inches long.

This cue is a great find for someone wanting a good-looking, excellent playing cue from a top cue maker at a very good price.

PRICE:  $1450 plus shipping.
