David Elliott has been building strong, solid, great hitting cues for a number of years now. They play consistently well, and these "bar cues" have the same great hit as his more expensive cues. They are very well built, have a tremendous finish on them and play great.

A word on David's background - he apprenticed in the Chris Nitti shop for probably a decade or more before he struck out making cues under his own name. He still builds all his cues in the Nitti shop, so don't be surprised if you find his cues play and are built very much like Nitti cues. And that's good. Chris' cues have a three-decade history of consistent good hit, excellent quality, and outstanding finishes. You will also find that David has his own design ideas, and are frequently very divergent from other cues coming out of the Nitti shop.

This is a new design for David. It is a very simple design made to keep the cost down, while retaining the great hit for which his cues are known. His "BAR CUE" is a great choice for someone looking for an everyday player that will serve well in either the pool room on big tables, or on bar boxes. It is an economical cue, and one that you won't be afraid to take to league where a cue is often subjected to a lot of tough wear.

Even though this cue is made to be economical, i.e., without fancy inlays, veneered points, etc., there is one corner he doesn't cue. This is his choice of outstanding woods of great quality and color.

This one is made from beautifully toned purpleheart and luscious curly maple ... excellent choices that look good together.

You'll also notice that the design of the cue is unusual. Rather than the traditional butt sleeve, handle, and forearm arrangement, he extends the "handle" all the way down to the butt cap.

I love the ring pattern. It's simple, but very classy and adds a lot to the overall appearance.

Even though he tried to build an "economical" cue, he couldn't help but select very high quality woods. This curly maple and purpleheart both have great color, grain and tone. Together, they give the cue a nice crisp hit that is very pleasing.

He uses the same ring pattern at the joint, and adds a "Hoppe" style white ring at the butt. Then, he engraves his "E" logo on the ring. It all contributes to a simple yet classy look.

Take a close look at the quality of this excellent curly maple. And it shows beautifully with the very high quality of the Elliott finish. I've asked both Chris Nitti and David at various times why their finishes look better than most others. They say they don't do anything different, but just take more time with the polishing phase. They simply refuse to let it out of the shop until it meets their high standards.

He builds these Bar cues in the same way as his more expensive cues, with a stainless steel radial pin in a flat-faced joint, ensuring the same great hit that all his sticks possess. It comes with two 13mm premium maple shafts with matching ringwork, LBM ferrules and layered medium hard Wizard tips. It weighs 19.0 ounces (15.4, 3.6, 3.6), and is 58 inches long. (The weight can be adjusted.)
