ANDY GILBERT FOUR POINT EBONY & BIRDSEYE
|
This is another cue from the "Recollection Series" made exclusively for me by Andy Gilbert. Common to all cues in this series is the Hoppe-style butt cap with a LBM ring (simulated ivory) lined with veneers that match the veneers framing the points. Beyond that, the cues differ greatly with regard to types of woods and wraps. These cues are a great value from a great cuemaker.

This is a great playing cue with a very traditional look. It starts with a pure black ebony butt sleeve and ebony points framed in a really unique veneer pattern - green in the middle with a very thin light blue and then black on each side. It all ends up going into a pretty birdseye maple nose. It's finished with a textured black leather wrap that has a nice feel to it and makes the cue look even better.

It has nice ring work at the joint, and an LBM joint that looks like ivory, adding a touch of class. I really like the cues in this series, and this is a nice one. I hit a few balls with it, and as always, was impressed with how well these cues play. This one comes with two 13mm shafts, is fitted with a 3/8 X 10 pin and a flat faced wood-to-wood joint. It weighs 19.2 oz. At $1150, plus shipping, it's a chance to get a nice cue from a great cuemaker at a good price.
