ANDY GILBERT SIX POINT EBONY & BIRDSEYE
|
This is another cue from the "Recollection Series" made exclusively for me by Andy Gilbert. Common to all cues in this series is the Hoppe-style butt cap with a LBM ring (simulated ivory) lined with veneers that match the veneers framing the points. Beyond that, the cues differ greatly with regard to types of woods and wraps. These cues are a great value from a great cuemaker.

This is a subtle, classy cue in what has proved to be a very popular design. It has a sleek black ebony butt sleeve with the traditional Hoppe-style butt plate with rings on each side matching the veneers framing the ebony points. From the inside out, the colors are white (holly or maple), silver/grey and black. It is wrapped in a very nicely textured grey elephant ear. What I may like best about this one is the excellent, highly figured birdseye maple nose. Andy used an outstanding piece of wood.

| This cue comes with two 13mm shafts with Andy's custom taper, LBM ferrules and LePro tips. It is fitted with a flat faced wood-to-wood joint with a 3/8 X 10 pin and weighs 19.4 oz. Considering it has six points and an elephant ear wrap, this cue is priced modestly at $1350, plus shipping.
