LAKOTA TRIBUTE BY ANDY GILBERT
Andy Gilbert has gained wide recognition as a master cue builder over the years, but recently has been building a second reputation as a designer of native american and southwest styled cues. When I saw this one I couldn't pass it up.
What I liked a lot about this cue was the simplicity of the design and the integrity of the native american symbols. It is not a complicated design, but I believe it captures what native american art should be - simple and uncomplicated. The inlays are of natural materials, mostly wood and a bit of ivory, and it displays a symetry that is typical of primitive art.
There's so much to say about this cue that I hardly know where to begin. I'll start with the exquisite ringwork. It's a very typical Native American design, but the work and detail in these rings is incredible. It combines almost all of the materials used elsewhere in the cue.

| I really like the continuity of design in this cue. Andy has carried the same basic theme down into the butt sleeve, and the amount of work is just right - not too much and just enough.
I love the way everything comes together to make this cue exceptional. Andy finished it off with an ivory joint and a pinkish brown elephant ear wrap that he smoothed down for a great feel and a nice look.

This unusual cue comes with two 13mm shafts with LBM ferrules and LePro tips. It weighs 20.0 oz, and is fitted with a 3/8 X 10 pin on a flat faced joint. This cue is a steal at $3,200, plus shipping.
