           GINA "1 OF 1"

Most of Ernie's cue designs have been remade many times, but this one was special ordered and is definitely worth an extra look.  It seems to be a hybrid of several of his designs, and unlike many of the special "1 of 1"s that I see, this one really comes together well.  (Typically I tend to like the standard designs that Ernie has developed over time.  I figure he is the artist, and we should let him design the cues.  Many of the ones I see that have had too much input from the customer don't look nearly as good as Ernie's designs.)

Ernie started this cue with a gorgeous piece of birdseye maple for the nose and butt sleeve.  It is fully figured and shows beautiful grain.  He adds four ebony points in the nose, outlined with four veneers, and inlaid with mother of pearl notched diamonds and dots.

The butt sleeve perfectly complements the nose with the inclusion of four ebony windows, veneered in the same manner as the points, with matching inlays of mother of pearl.

Above and below the butt sleeve Ernie first added an ebony ring, then additional rings of maple squares outlined in ebony, adding some great detail.

At the joint, he added checked rings of perhaps osage orange (or stained maple) laid in ebony on both the cue and each of the shafts.  He topped it all off by including a solid ivory piloted joint, along with an ivory butt cap, adding touches of class and considerable value.

I took this cue in on trade, so I am not the original owner.  One shaft has been slightly played and shows a little blueing, but the other appears to be unplayed.  The butt is in "like new" condition - I can't find any scratches, dings or blemishes anywhere on it.

This cue comes with the original Ginacue/Whitten case, and two 13mm shafts with ivory ferrules.  It has a textured black leather wrap, applied as only Ernie can.  (I spent a minute or so looking for the seam and finally gave up - I couldn't find it!) It weighs 19.4 ounces.  This cue has a classic Ginacue look and is really pretty.   Jump on this one while you can ... Ginas are getting hard to find.
