RASPUTIN BY GINACUE

The "Rasputin" is perhaps the most well-known design by Ernie Gutierrez, and despite its high cost, it has been in great demand for many years.  Most have been sold in Asia, but a few have remained in the U.S.  This cue was made in 1991, and is one of a kind because of its white pigskin wrap, hand picked by Ernie.

It contains extra rings of ivory in the ringwork, cut almost razor thin, something Ernie no longer does with this cue because of the high degree of difficulty.  (He will still do it on special request, but he charges up to a $900 premium!)

This traditional design really anchored Ernie as a premier cue designer, and it is often copied by others.  It is comprised of six creamy white ivory points cut up and down into pitch-black Gabon ebony.  The points are all separated by wedges of ivory and colorful crescents of multicolored woods forming the unique Gutierrez rainbow pattern for which he is known throughout the world.

The butt contans four beauty rings of alternating squares of ivory and .999 fine silver, outlined by concentric rings of ivory and silver.  Each of the two ivory-ferruled shafts also has this same beauty ring.  The stick is further accented with a solid ivory joint and butt cap, and with heavily stylized ivory and ebony joint protectors.

This Guttierrez design is considered by many cue collectors to be one of the most beautiful sticks ever made.  The design has been around for many years, and in my opinion, nobody has ever topped it.  It is his most sought-after design, and the cue I get most inquiries about.

It comes with the special "Ginacue" case by Whitten, with the Gina logo engraved on the top.
