JOSSWEST EBONY & MAPLE
SIX POINT WITH MAPLE WINDOWS
|
This is one of those cues you always hear about - it's been in the back of somebody's closet for the last ten years or so, literally. Normally, that sounds too good to be true, but that's the case with this one. It's in virtually new condition. I can tell that one of the shafts has been played, but if I changed tips you'd never know. It's a great, older Josswest in a very traditional style.

I really like the piece of maple Bill selected for this cue. It's loaded up with lots of birdseye grain, and adds a lot to the cue. Also, the veneers are the same colors as some of the old Szambotis, which ties in with the traditional design in the butt sleeve.
|
It has a very classic butt sleeve, reminiscent of a Szamboti design, made up of ivory diamonds and dots alternating with pretty maple windows.
| |
Stroud used a basic six-point point structure with short and long ebony points, highlighted by green, brown and maple veneers. The ivory diamonds are repeated in the long points. It's a very simple, but classy look.
|
He adds a some nice ivory checked rings at all locations, and an ivory joint and butt cap. It has a linen wrap that is typical of the Josswest cues being made when this one was.
|
Even though this cue's been around for awhile, it's in excellent condition. Everything is straight and there are no dings are scratches. It comes with two 13mm shafts and weighs 19.8 ounces with either.
PRICE: $3,000
