IN COCOBOLO AND BIRDSEYE MAPLE

Judd Fuller was well-known as a west coast cuemaker for many years before he became known around the world as the guy who was making cues for many of the top Filipino players, including Efren Reyes. He made simple, sharp-looking and crisp-hitting cues that played extremely well.

His cues are often recognizable because of his multiple pointed designs, frequently eight and ten points. They were always thin and long and somehow had a distinct look.

This one's made using dark cocobolo and some very nice birdseye maple. The points and handle are made from cocobolo, while the nose and butt sleeve are maple.

He used brown phenolic material for the butt cap and joint, which was very popular at the time. It still looks great.

This cue has been in a private collection for a number of years, it appears to have never been played. It is all in original condition. It's actually quite a find - Fuller cues were generally bought to be played with and were seldom put away for posterity.

He builds in two distinctive rings in the butt sleeve. Each ring consists of four silver rings lining two outer rings of ebony and a center ring of silver-outlined squares and rectangles of cocobolo.

At the bottom and top of the handle, and at the joint, he adds some simple rings of silver.

Judd built his well-respected playing cues out of a small shop behind his house in Yellow Jacket, Colorado for many years before his death. He didn't build many cues, and because of the strong reputation his sticks had he always had a long waiting list. His work was all done by pantograph, and was very traditional.

The cocobolo has nice color and grain.

His points were always very long and thin - fine points coming to sharp points.

Built in 2011, this cue is in excellent condition. The finish is still very nice and it appears to have never been played.

| He uses the same phenolic material at the joint and on the ring collars of the shafts, all with the simple silver rings. It is built with a 3/8 X 10 steel pin. It comes with the two original shafts with one inch ferrules, and somewhere along the line someone has added layered tips, probably Mooris.

There is some variation in the weight, depending on which shaft is used. One shaft weighs 3.4 and the other is 4.0, while the butt weighs 15.0, so the total weight is 18.8 or 19.0. It is 58 inches long.
