DAVE KIKEL AFZELIA LAY & EBONY FOUR POINT CUE
This is another gorgeous cue by Dave Kikel in which he again utilizes beautiful and rare woods. I think his selection of exotic woods is perhaps the best of all the major cuemakers. When I order cues from him, I never know what to expect, and he always pleasantly surprises me. This cue begins with a nose of afzelia lay, with ebony points and an ebony butt sleeve. Afzelia comes from tropical Asia and Africa, but afzelia lay typically comes from Laos.
With this cue, he uses a basic four-point design, and then dresses it up with an ivory joint collar contructed with a 5/16 X 14 piloted joint. He adds an afzelia band in the joint collars. He also inlays afzelia and ivory 8-stitch rings in the butt sleeve. The veneer colors in this cue are beautiful.

| He builds additional elegance into this cue by adding 28 ivory dots and 12 ivory inlays. However, he keeps the cost down by fitting it with a synthetic ivory butt cap. Finally, he adds a beautiful leather wrap that matches the color of the afzelia perfectly. When it's all finished, this cue really comes together.
It comes with two 13mm shafts with ivory ferrules and sumo tips, and weighs 18.8 ounces. I think this cue is a bargain for $2225. (The wood alone in Dave's shafts is worth a premium -- all of it aged 12-15 years, and then carefully culled.) It's a great cue, and hits like few cues do.
