MIKE LAMBROS FOUR POINT
COCOBOLO AND MAPLE CUE
WITH "ULTIMATE" JOINT AND FIVE SHAFTS

Offered here is a beautiful Mike Lambros cue.  It is pre-owned, but has recently been refinished by Mike, and is in excellent condition.  The butt is like new, and the shafts are all in either new or excellent condition.  Two of the original shafts have not been played.

It is made with the "Ultimate" joint - a proprietary joint configuration offered only by Lambros.  Rather that try to tell you about its construction, I'll refer you to the Lambros website where he goes into detail about how it is made.  What I will tell you is that it's the real deal - these sticks have an outstanding hit, very solid, and one that is tough to duplicate.

Lambros cues are hard to find on the secondary market.  He has a waiting list for new ones, and people who get them tend to hold on to them.  So this is a rare opportunity.  I've been in business now for 20 years, and this is only the second one I've had the chance to buy.

This is a very nice design - birdseye maple buttsleeve with ebony inlays, and nice long veneered maple points into a cocobolo nose.  It's bright,  complex, and has a ring design that tops it all off.

The ring pattern is made up of a wide white ring, with four silver rings, one ebony ring - almost too many rings to try and describe.  I'm glad I have good photos.

The veneer colors lining the points are black, orange, green and maple.  It's a nice color combination that looks good with the natural wood colors of the cue.

The butt cap itself is actually an expanded version of the ringset used throughout the cue.

The quality of the birdseye maple is consistent throughout.

The handle is wrapped in a very nicely textured brown Spanish bull, and this is the first time I've seen it in brown.  It's a gorgeous rich honey color and has a great texture and look.  It's noteworthy how much a bold, rich wrap can add to a cue and so seldom done, even though it adds little to the cost.

Here's a good view of the engineering behind of the "Ultimate" joint.  Notice the wide tapered hub on the shaft collars that goies inside the piloted part of the joint itself.  It is a type of compression joint, and the shaft tightens and secures itself more and more tightly as it is screwed on.

And of course, the Lambros name is boldly engraved in the butt sleeve just above the butt cap.

Aside from the fact that this is an opportunity to obtain a rare, hard to find stick, there are a number of other key "extras" with this one.  First, it has five shafts - three originals and two low deflection shafts ordered separately but finished by Mike Lambros, and all with the original ringwork.

Second, it has a Lambros-made 8 inche extension, made in matching birdseye maple, complete with logo.

This cue is 59 inches long and weighs 19.6 ounces.  (Fifty-nine inchers are typically a little heavy, but feel lighter.)  The shafts all weigh 3.7 ounces and are just under 13mm.  The three original shafts have LBM ferrules and layered tips.  (Mooris, perhaps.  I can't be sure.)  The two low deflection shafts have no ferrules, and the same tips.

There's a lot of value in this stick.  It's one of Lambros' higher models to begin with, there are five shafts with original ringwork, and an extension to boot.  Plus, the butt has just been refinished.   Demand is high for these cues, and they are hard to find.
