Here is another beauty from Tim Prince. It's a six pointer made from pure black ebony and birdseye maple, with outstanding veneer work and more of the stunning silver wire work we've seen in other of his cues.

As you can see from the pictures above and below, this is an elegant cue. His work is always meticulous, and when you combine it with a magnificent design like this one, the result is really special.

This cue has all the extras, including extensive silver inlay work and fancy inlaid silver and copper rings.
|
His silver work, as usual, is exceptional. He creates images in his cues using dozens of individual pieces of silver wire, all carefully inlaid to form larger pictures.
|
His points are always classic - very traditional, sharp and even, and expertly veneered to make them stand out from the crowd.
|
Handling one of his cues in person is a special experience. They are the kind of cue that commands attention, and catches eyes across the room. They have a look all their own.
|
These cues have lots of things going for them, not the least of which is their excellent feel and hit. A combination of meticulous construction, tight tolerances and superior balance all combine to insure an outstanding "hit" from every Prince cue.

Tim prefers working with maple forearms over other woods. He believes that it has the best, most consistent hit, and while he sometimes builds sticks with other materials, most of his higher-end cues begin with a maple foundation.

The points in this one are ebony, and they are framed in three layers of veneer - black, white and lavender. They combine into a dominant shade of lavender, which is a perfect complement to all the silver.

His veneer work is always consistent and perfectly done.
|
Tim's rings are always special, and usually consist of beautiful displays of his delicate silver work. In this cue, he's created rings using notched white LBM diamonds surrounded by lots of small silver inlays.
|
He then uses this ring pattern in all locations, including above the butt cap, below and above the handle, at the joint and on the ring collars of the shafts.
|
He does another unique inlay pattern, again, of silver wire, in the bases of the points. This pattern has two versions, one in the bases of the long points and a smaller version for the short points.
|
Finally, he adds the real centerpiece of this cue, the complex silver inlay pattern in the butt sleeve. It shows what looks to be a torch, going in both directions, and thus, the name I've given it. (On the other hand, it could be an ancient scroll, depending on how you look at it.)

As always, his points are long, sharp and even.

He wraps the handle with a nicely textured black leather wrap that looks great and will wear well with time.

These rings add a lot to the overall impact of this cue's design.

This cue comes with two of his premium 13mm maple shafts with Sabre-T LBM ferrules and medium Ultraskin tips. It is built with a 3/8 X 10 steel pin, and weighs 19.1 ounces (15.2, 3.9, 3.9), and is 58 inches long.
