RUSTY MELTON
HAND CARVED CASES

SORRY, THIS CASE HAS BEEN SOLD.  HOWEVER, I AM LEAVING THE PICTURES UP FOR AWHILE SO PEOPLE CAN SEE RUSTY'S WORK.

Rusty Melton is a relatively new casemaker from southern Missouri who has quickly moved into the class of elite carvers and casemakers.  His work is meticulous and beautiful, and in just a short time he has a waiting list that is near two years long.  (I almost hate to say that, since all the "waiting list" fanatics will immediately call so they can say they're on his list!)

In any event, I've been lucky enough (Interpretation:  Willing to spend enough) to get a couple of his cases.  Not only are they beautiful on the outside, but what he calls 2X2s have one of the best interiors of any case made.  The configurations are a little odd, but the soft, stretchy nylon interior provides  a lot of protection.

Listed and pictured below are a few examples of his work.

RUSTY MELTON 2x4
FULLY CARVED CASE

This is a typical Melton case, but to an "extreme" factor.  It is fully carved and not only a work of art and functional case, but it took an extraordinary amount of work to bring it to completion.  It is truly a beautiful thing to behold.
I love the way Rusty worked a Celtic cross into the traditional carving.  I've been observing his work for several years now, and it's obvious to me that he keeps getting better.  This is undoubtedly one of the best cases he's made.
Not many of Rusty's cases have accessory pockets, but I requested this one to be made with one.  It's slightly larger than a Justis pocket, which I like - it seems like the pocket on my Justis is always a little too small for what a player needs to carry.
I love the color of this case.  It's a deep, rich brown with a slightly reddish tint.  The depth and detail of the carving is outstanding, not to mention that almost every square inch of it is covered, including the strap pad and the inside of the top lid.  He has also started building his cases with a double snap on the lid strap to insure the safety of the cues.  (You know this is a nice feature if you've ever dumped your cues out on the ground (like I have) because the snap on your case didn't properly catch.
I don't know what else there is to say about this case, other than that it has a nicely lined, tubed interior that affords your cues excellent protection.  This case is an eye-catcher for sure.  It's not cheap (email me for price), but it's a functional case that should last you a lifetime, and it's a work of art that will always be the center of attention, wherever you are.

MELTON TWO BY TWO CARVED CASE

ALSO SOLD - SORRY!

This is a brand new case by Rusty which has an unusual configuration which I like.  It's a 2X2.  It's shaped like a 2X4, but is proportionately smaller and lighter.  It's perfect for someone who wants to carry their break stick and shaft, and playing cue with only one shaft.

You can tell from these pictures how Rusty has gotten such a good reputation as a carver so quickly.  The work in this case is superb.

This case is very well made, and has several great features.  The top and bottom is uniquely carved, as well as the shoulder pad.  It has a side handle, top handle, and has a double snap on the top for secure fit.  Most other cases only have one snap.  (I've dumped my cues out on the ground more than once when the snap wasn't affixed properly.  This makes that kind of thing more unlikely.)

EMAIL ME FOR A PRICE ON THIS CASE.
