Recollection Cues

Collectible Cues, Cases & Quality Players

The work of Josh Treadway has been improving by leaps and bounds, and this cue is evidence of that upward trend.  This is a superb cue and shows just how competent this young cuemaker has become.

Josh began this cue with a beautiful wood combination - one of my favorites - pink ivory wood and ebony.  He uses a pink ivory wood butt sleeve with veneered ebony boxes and ivory ovals, and in the nose puts pink ivory wood long pointS with ivory short points into an ebony nose.  The effect is stunning.

This cue is easy to get excited about.  Not only is the most complex, expensive and beautiful cue Josh has built, it is the first time he has done silver work, and his first venture into detailing one of his cues with scrimshaw.  There's a lot going on in it, but it all comes together perfectly.

Just take a look at some of the detail in this cue...

Note the silver veneer around each ivory oval, perfectly scrimshawed by Crystal Herbert of Iowa.

There are also inlaid silver dots above and below the ivory crosses both in the butt sleeve and the points.

I think the amount of silver in this cue is just right.  It adds a touch of class, and highlights the other work perfectly.  It's not ostentatious, but catches the light nicely and adds just the right amount of "pizazz."

He uses very nicely selected colors in the veneers and matches them with veneers within the rings.  He also adds fully ringed custom joint protectors, each engraved with the Celtic symbol for the "Trinity."  In the cap for the butt, the symbol is slightly more complex than on the ones for the shafts - a nice touch.

Everything white in this cue is ivory - joint, butt cap, inlays and ferrules - everything except the whitish veneers, which are maple.

This cue comes with two 13mm shafts with ivory ferrules and LePro tips.  It's built with a flat-faced joint with a radial pin, and weighs 19.8 ounces.  Best of all perhaps, it plays as good as it looks.  This is a tremendous choice for someone who wants a great playing cue that is elegant and tasteful.
At $Sold$ it comes with a customized 1X2 GTF case with the name "Treadway" engraved on the top.  This cue is a bargain.  Don't let this one get away!
